Requirements
Qualifications/Skills
- Certified as a K-12 or Secondary Principal in the State of Wisconsin
- Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated success as an instructional leader with a strong vision for the future
- Proven expertise and commitment to best practices and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to hold self and others accountable to high professional standards
- Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and public and interpersonal relations
- Possess exemplary professional ethics and personal integrity
- Experience in a professional learning community model engaging staff and improving student performance
- Technologically proficient
- Positive and responsive communication with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community.
General Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as a building instructional leader.
- Create and maintain an inclusive school culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
- Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and social-emotional development.
- Develop and administer an annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for all students.
- Continually monitor student progress and outcomes.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and public relations with staff, students, parents, and community members through all programs and activities.
- Prepare and manage the budget for the building and maintain accurate budgetary records as required by district policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high-performing staff through effective hiring and evaluation systems.
- Develop, coach, train, mentor, and manage staff as appropriate.
- Manage, evaluate, and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, goals, and strategic plan of the school district, including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, school board policies, and school district procedures.
- Supervise the instructional programs of the school on a regular basis to ensure the use of effective instructional strategies, content, and materials consistent with research on learning, student growth, and development.
- Work with staff to identify professional needs and plan, organize, and facilitate programs that improve staff effectiveness.
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnel. Serve as a role model.
- Participate in professional development workshops, activities, and seminars.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
