The Mount Horeb Area School District, located just 15 minutes west of Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a proven, dynamic, and innovative leader to serve as the High School Principal.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Principal license
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field
- At least five (5) years of successful teaching and leadership experience
- Commitment to holding high academic and behavioral expectations for all students
- Ability to nurture a culture of learning, a safe and positive climate, and collaborative professional learning communities
- Superior ability to demonstrate culturally relevant practices (diversity, equity, and inclusion)
- Exceptional ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and respect when addressing challenges
- High level of organizational skills necessary to lead and manage a large school
- Commitment to high professional standards and ethics
- Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals
- Timeliness in meeting deadlines, requests, and other professional responsibilities
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability, especially during times of change
- Dedication to professional learning, including participation in conferences, academies, or coaching to enhance leadership growth
- Ability to work independently within the job description and make sound, reasoned decisions
- Extensive knowledge of statutes, rules, regulations, case law, and board policies affecting student records, attendance, and discipline
- Proficiency in computer systems necessary for managing student records, attendance, and school operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a building principal
- Experience managing school budgets and financial planning
- Background in leading professional development and instructional improvement
